A Bauer College graduate is making a name for himself in the local real estate industry — the Houston Association of Realtors has named Keeyan Sabz (BBA ’11) one of the NextGen Realtor Group’s 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate.

The award recognizes excellence in the areas of sales, leadership and community service in professionals 40 years old or younger. Sabz is one of the top producing agents in his Keller Williams office. The association also considered his contributions to the Young Professional Network Advisory Group at the Houston Association of Realtors and Giveback Homes, a network of real estate professionals that help build homes for families in need.

Sabz credits his Bauer College education with preparing him for his career.

“Communication skills are key to any type of success,” he said. “Classroom presentations proved to be great practice to articulate myself during a listing presentation where I am trying to sell myself and my services to a seller, to show why I am the realtor to list their home.”

Career counselors at Bauer’s Rockwell Career Center also helped to guide Sabz to make professional connections.

“Bauer’s resources also allowed me to sharpen my networking skills — vital to success in real estate,” he added. “If you aren’t networking, you aren’t working.”

In addition to the 20 Under 40 Recognition, Sabz was also featured on the cover of Houston Realtor Magazine. Sabz said his future plans include building a successful real estate team and becoming the go-to realtor for University of Houston alumni.
