Make-A-Wish President and CEO David Williams Will Headline First “Inspiring Minds” Event on Jan. 22
On Jan. 22, the C. T. Bauer College of Business will launch “Inspiring Minds,” a new speaker series designed to engage students and the Houston community through personal reflections from successful business leaders and entrepreneurs.
“The goal of ‘Inspiring Minds’ is to do just that. As Houston’s business school, we have a responsibility to provide a venue for education, discussion and conversation,” Bauer College Dean Latha Ramchand said.
She added: “These special events will give our students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community the opportunity to hear from CEOs, political leaders, inventors and entrepreneurs — if someone is doing something exceptionally well at a national or international level, we want to invite that person to share with us their path to success through ‘Inspiring Minds.’”
Make-A-Wish America President and CEO David Williams will open the series on Jan. 22 at 5:30 p.m. with a talk in Stubblefield Auditorium in Cemo Hall. Williams earned his MBA from Bauer College in 1992. (Click here to RSVP to attend. The event is free, but online registration will close on Jan. 19.)
“David Williams really is the perfect person to help us launch ‘Inspiring Minds,’” Ramchand said. “Bauer students should be inspired not only by his journey to success and the fact that he studied on the same campus as them, but also by the nature of his work and how he has chosen to apply his business education to serve others.”
The college plans to hold “Inspiring Minds” events twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
