Alumni Raise Funds During Special Kendra Scott Event
Bauer College alumni and friends shopped for a cause last week during a special fundraising event at the Kendra Scott store in Rice Village.
The “Kendra Gives Back” sale contributed 20 percent of all purchases that evening to the Bauer College Alumni Association (BCAA) and also served as a networking opportunity for attendees.
“We were very excited to host a women’s event with the Bauer College Alumni Association,” said BCAA vice president Ariana Cavazos (BBA ‘09). “There are so many women in business, and we thought that an event like this would be awesome.”
BCAA community service co-chair Michelle Alvarez (BBA ‘13) added that Kendra Scott’s story is a perfect fit for Bauer alumni.
“This business grew from a simple idea into something that now has 42 locations across the United States and is continuing to grow,” she said. “I think that’s a symbol as well of the Bauer College Alumni Association and what we have to offer our alumni.”
Event attendees also enjoyed snacks and drinks throughout the night, participated in a raffle for several Bauer items and connected to BCAA.
“It seemed like a really natural fit and a great way for people either to get re-engaged with BCAA or get involved for the first time,” Cavazos said.
Alvarez added: “Our hope is that through events like this one, we continue to cater to our diverse alumni and get them to stay involved and come out and meet new people so that they can in turn expand their businesses, grow their ideas and develop their dreams. Whatever it is, the Bauer College Alumni Association wants to be here to help them.”
