UH ALUMNI COMPETE IN GLOBAL STARTUP BATTLE
Three University of Houston alumni need public votes to be named the world’s best in Global Startup Battle, an online competition that runs through Nov. 27. The students, including Bauer alumnus James Wroblewski, won the 2012 Startup Weekend Houston in early November for PermitMe, their business idea to help solve one of the basic roadblocks in starting a business — government permitting. PermitMe’s mission is to help small businesses launch quickly, legally and efficiently by helping them navigate local or state government permitting. The Houston team is competing against 130-plus other first place teams from Startup Weekends around the world. Supporters can vote online once a day between Nov. 21-27 at http://bit.ly/GlobalStartupBattle.
