The city of Houston is known as the energy capital of the world for good reason, making it a logical host for the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), slated this year for May 5-8.
Held annually at Reliant Center, OTC is the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production and environmental protection, boasting at least 100,000 visitors and over 2,700 exhibitors.
OTC Board of Directors Chairman Ed Stokes stopped by Bauer Business Focus recently to discuss what to expect at this year’s conference.
“OTC represents different societies, so we bring perspective of the user to this community,” Stokes said. “We plan the program on the basis of what we think is important so the people that come are getting the info they need to apply it in their jobs.”
With important topics such as deep water drilling and exploration programs, Stokes says that OTC is the place to get an solution to your problems.
“We are attracting engineers and geoscientists, people that use the technology. Any person that has technology need they’re going to find a program discussed there that will be relevant to the issues they have.”
