Greater Houston Partnership President and CEO Bob Harvey stopped by Bauer Business Focus to discuss the anti-discrimination ordinance that will be on the Houston ballot in November.

Harvey states that this proposition is one that will greatly affect businesses and the economy in Texas and especially Houston. He suggests that Houston may not get future big sporting events if the proposition is not passed because the city won’t be viewed as diverse and open to everyone. These are just some of the reasons that the Greater Houston Partnership is supporting this ordinance.

“We try to get companies on the east and west coast to come to Texas and there are a lot of great reasons why they should come to Houston,” Harvey said. “But if we send a signal to the east and west coast that we’re not open to everyone, those companies can’t come here. “
