On Bauer Business Focus — A conversation on lowering Houstonians’ energy costs with Andrew Schneider, business reporter for KUHF 88.7 FM.
As we inch closer and closer to to the dog days of summer, Houston consumers are already thinking about how much their home energy costs will rise along with the temperature.
Philip Playfair, founder and CEO of Lowfoot, Inc., stopped by Bauer Business Focus recently to discuss how his company plans to help Houstonians beat the heat and high energy costs by bringing smart meters to the area.
“We decided to open up in Houston because the energy markets are exciting here and a lot of people are doing innovative things,” Playfair said. “The PUC and ERCOT have done a great job getting smart meters in the field, and it’s going to be companies like Lowfoot to get consumers to use this data and make informed choices.”
While Playfair and his company begin to make their move on the Houston area, they are setting their sights high for the future.
“Our goal is to sign many more contracts and to expand and hire more people in Texas, and keep hiring people from Texas, because we’ve been successful in finding people who know a lot about energy, but also know the technology.”
