Rob Andrews, founder of Allen Austin, says executive-level job creation is good news for everyone.

On Bauer Business Focus –Rob Andrews, Founder and CEO of Allen Austin Global Executive Search talks with Ed Mayberry, business reporter for KUHF 88.7 FM.

According to a new survey, more companies are hiring top-level executives in 2010.  Twenty-one percent are adding new executive-level positions and another 56 percent are trading up for better talent in existing positions. Leading the upturn are the healthcare, green technology, and high-tech industries, according to the survey conducted by ExecuNet, a networking organization for senior executives.

Andrews, who has built his consulting business on executive matches that work and last, says an upswing in job creation at the top is a good indication that other positions will be close behind.

“Houston is following the same trend as the rest of the country. We are seeing an increase in demand for senior level positions, and typically you see changes at the top before you see changes at the rank and file level. So what we are seeing, I think, is good news for everyone.”
