On Bauer Business Focus — A conversation on how businesses are cutting costs using cloud computing with Andrew Schneider, business reporter for KUHF 88.7 FM.
Companies are increasingly looking for new ways to bring in customers and cut costs, with a recent focus on new technology, including cloud computing.
Stephen Webster, President and CEO of StratItsphere, stopped by Bauer Business Focus recently to discuss how his business is helping companies make the transition to cloud computing.
“What is driving cloud computing today is really what I call consumerization of business IT and the desire for companies to reduce their capital and associated expenditures,” Webster said. “In today’s economic climate, companies are trying to become more efficient, become more lean, while still staying agile to their customers, and cloud computing is really a good enabling technology to let them do that.”
Although Webster received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, he received a Master of Finance at the Bauer College of Business, where he was able to apply the theories learned to create a successful business.
“I’ve always been taught from my mentors that understanding business is the key to driving value out of information technology, so it was a natural for me to go back and get my master of finance from the Bauer College of Business, so that I could apply solutions and understand the business aspects of our companies operations and apply technology solutions to them.”
