The University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business didn’t exist when James Pratt, the PricewaterhouseCoopers Professor for Accounting & Taxation, began attending school here in 1961.
When the time came for Houston PBS producers to look for experts in the energy industry to discuss oil and the environment for an upcoming documentary, they had to look no further than their own backyard – the University of Houston’s C. T. Bauer College of Business.
A daylong workshop, “Influencing Energy Policy in the Next Administration: A Workshop in Public Affairs and Lobbying,” brought senior executives from many Bauer partner energy firms together.
The tradition of putting lessons learned in the classroom to practical use has continued for students in the marketing & entrepreneurship department at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
In business, not much attention has been paid to how best utilize an inevitable and historically unprofitable piece of the supply chain puzzle: returns, especially of high-dollar items like office equipment or specialized machinery that come back slightly damaged.
