The business of LNG — liquefied natural gas — has been top of mind for energy companies in the last decade, as more players invest in new technologies to treat, transport and store the fuel. Energy shortage concerns have further driven the discussion of LNG as an alternative fuel source.

The University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business will bring together students, industry leaders and the business community on Sept. 25 to address the topic in the first Distinguished Leaders Series (DLS) panel of the fall semester.
Presented by AGL Resources and their Houston-based companies, the DLS serves as an opportunity for exploring topical issues in business, most recently those in the energy industry. Previous DLS events have covered the global energy supply chain, energy master limited partnerships and gas shale discoveries.

On Sept. 25, a reception will be held in the lobby of Cemo Hall at 5 p.m. before the 6 p.m. panel discussion, where featured speakers will give an overview of LNG in the global business context. The panel will feature accomplished leaders from the energy industry, including:
