Evolving Economy Demands Soft Skills and Business Base, Ramchand Says
Collaborative leadership was the focus of Dean Latha Ramchand’s keynote address to the Shell Asian Pacific Employee Networking Group (SAPENG) 2015 Annual Learning Event in late October.
Her presentation, titled “Leadership: The Collaboration Imperative,” highlighted how Bauer College prepares students to take on lead roles in organizations, particularly within the energy industry.
“The future is going to require business leaders to have a greater amount of knowledge and skills because of the way the economy is evolving,” Ramchand said.
Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to listen and empathize, are crucial qualities for successful leadership, she added, in addition to a base of business skills.
Ramchand delivered her presentation to more than 125 Shell employees at the Woodcreek Complex in Houston’s Energy Corridor. To see a photo gallery from the event, click here.
