FINANCIAL OVERHAUL: BREAKING DOWN THOUSANDS OF PAGES OF LEGISLATION FOR CONSUMERS

As lawmakers continue to examine the sweeping overhaul of the nation’s financial regulatory system, a response to 2008’s economic crisis, consumers are left wondering what the 2,300+ pages of legislation mean and how the changes could impact them. Finance professor Craig Pirrong, who gives his thoughts on finance and energy issues on his blog (www.streetwiseprofessor.com), is available to discuss the proposed derivatives regulation, recently been called one of the more controversial sections of the bill.

George Steinbrenner, the take-no-prisoners owner of the New York Yankees who built the team into one of Major League Baseball’s powerhouses, died this week at 80. For many (especially Seinfeld’s George Castanza), Steinbrenner is perhaps best known for his controversial leadership style ― is it better to win at all costs, or should bosses focus on team building and morale?
