WHAT’S BEHIND THE CURTAIN?
Cloaked in secrecy, Apple is holding an event slated today to announce the new iPhone 5. With rumors swirling months in advance, Apple seems to have done little, if any, marketing for this new product. Bauer marketing professors Steve Koch, an expert on new product marketing, and Betsy Gelb, an expert on advertising, are available to talk about how Apple rides the wave of buzz to successfully sell their products.

ENERGY IN TEXAS GOES GREEN
A new retail electric brand, Direct Energy’s New Leaf Energy, is offering customers power generated exclusively from renewable sources, showing Texas’ growing demand for clean energy. Praveen Kumar, a finance professor and executive director of the Global Energy Management Institute (GEMI) at Bauer College, is willing to talk about how the growing popularity of green energy can affect other energy markets.
