Bauer Graduates Recognized for Outstanding Academic Success

Each semester, Bauer’s Graduate and Professional Programs selects students from each program to recognize as outstanding students.

Below, we recognize each of them, as they share their plans for the future.

Feiyuan Li

Outstanding Master of Science in Finance Student
Feiyuan Li

Feiyuan Li joined the Bauer MS Finance program in Fall 2019. Before joining Bauer, she received her Master’s degree of International Finance from Shanghai University of Finance & Economics from China, and also is a CPA in China.

She has completed the program with four certificates to supplement her degree. Her certificates include Investment Analysis, Energy Finance, Energy Investment Analysis and Energy Risk Management. She is also on the track of becoming a CFA charter holder. She passed the CFA level 1 exam in December 2019 with over 90 percentile and will take the CFA level 2 exam in December 2020.

 

Sage Love

Outstanding Master of Science in Finance Student
Sage Love

Sage Love grew up in rural Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in Finance. After undergrad, he decide to pursue his masters in the field of finance to gain a greater depth to study advanced level topics to enhance his knowledge of the subject.

He has always had an interest in finance since he learned about stocks and bonds at an early age. He hopes to pursue a corporate finance career after graduation.

Rachel Kaplan

Outstanding Master of Science in Management & Leadership Student
Rachel Kaplan

After graduating with honors at Southwestern University and spending a few years in the workforce, Rachel Kaplan decided to return to school to obtain her masters. She has always enjoyed working with people, and with her minor in psychology, the MS in Management & Leadership was the perfect fit. Working with team dynamics, diversity and inclusion, and psychology and ethics will most certainly launch her career in HR to the next level.

 

Monika Kalam

Outstanding Master of Science in Management Information Systems Student
Monika Kalam

Monika Kalam graduated from the University of Houston-College of Technology majoring in digital media. She is currently working as a Digital Media Specialist at KLX Energy Services. Monika is looking forward to joining the MIS industry after graduation.

She is excited to get real-work experience in some of the topics she studied during her time at Bauer, such as information security, database management, and cloud computing.

 

Brianna VanSoest

Outstanding Master of Science in Marketing Student
Brianna VanSoest

Brianna VanSoest’s path to finding her passion for digital marketing was anything but a straight path.

Having explored several degrees, jobs and continents to her heart’s content, it was the combination of analytics with the boundless creativity of marketing that hit the perfect balance.

VanSoest has her Bachelors in Mathematics and now will add Master of Science in Marketing to her academic accomplishments. She currently works for Optidge and in her spare time she can be found enjoying the outdoors with her rescue pup.

Dona Goswami

Outstanding Master of Business Administration Student
Dona Goswami

Dona Goswami was born in Kolkata, India. In 2005, she earned her Master in Science (MS) in Applied Geology from Jadavpur University, India and two years later, she graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay with a Master in Technology (M.Tech) in Geological Engineering.

After completion of her studies, she moved to Houston to start her career in oil and gas with Schlumberger. Her oil and gas career spans over more than eight years working for leading oil and gas multinational companies as project manager and senior geophysicist.

In 2019, she decided to move back into academics to expand her skillsets through the MBA program at the Bauer College. During her time at Bauer, she served as the Executive Vice President of the Bauer MBA Society and Vice President (later President) of Marketing Club. She also participated in several case competitions, most notably the 4th Annual Greater Houston Case Competition and 16th Annual KeyBank & Fisher College of Business Minority MBA Student Case Competition.

Upon completion of her MBA program, she aspires to continue further her career into consumer behavior modelling and decision making.
