U.S. Energy Future at March 24 Sequent DLS
On March 24, the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business will host CenterPoint Energy, Inc. President and CEO David McClanahan for its second installment of this semester’s Distinguished Leaders Series, presented by Sequent Energy Management.
The event will be at 6 p.m. in Stubblefield Auditorium in Michael J. Cemo Hall following a private reception. McClanahan earned his MBA from Bauer College in 1976 and has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with honors from the University of Texas. He is also a certified public accountant.
Prior to his current position, he was president and chief operating officer of all regulated operations for Reliant Energy and served as vice chairman of Reliant Energy in 1999. He began his career with CenterPoint Energy, Inc in 1972 and has over 40 years of experience in various aspects of business administration in the energy industry.
Since its inception in 2002, the Distinguished Leaders Series at UH Bauer has brought leaders from the business world to campus to give students firsthand perspectives of their paths to success. With support from Sequent Energy Management, the DLS has recently focused on how those leading energy companies are keeping pace with innovations in the industry.
