Three-Day Event Highlights Two Dozen Bauer Student Orgs, Emphasizes Involvement
The roster of more than two dozen student organizations at the C. T. Bauer College of Business will be on display this week during the college’s biannual Rush Week.
Set this fall for Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, the event allows Bauer College student organizations to set up in the back drum of Melcher Hall for three days during the beginning of each semester with the goal of meeting students interested in getting involved.
“Rush Week is a one-stop shop for students to discover all of our student organizations, meet the officers and learn about upcoming events and opportunities,” said Sarayu Sundar, program manager for student engagement. “Our student leaders work very hard to make this a fun and memorable event for our students, so participating in Rush Week is the best way to get great information about their organizations.”
Additionally, getting involved with student activities adds to the overall experience of being a Bauer student, Sundar said.
“While it is absolutely critical for our students to focus on academics, it’s also important to excel outside the classroom,” she added. “By joining a student organization and getting involved on campus, students can make friends, network with potential employers, meet Bauer alumni and give back to the Houston community.”
Fall 2016 Rush Week begins Aug. 30 and ends Sept. 1. Student organizations will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the back drum area of Melcher Hall. For a full list of Bauer student organizations, click here.
