Online Registration Closes This Week for “Lessons in Leadership” Talk from Aylwin Lewis (’76, MBA ’90)
Bauer College will welcome Potbelly Sandwich Works Chairman, CEO and President Aylwin Lewis (’76, MBA ’90) next week for the fall installment of the “Inspiring Minds” speaker series on Oct. 15.
The event is part of a daylong visit to campus for Lewis, who also serves on the Bauer College Board. He’ll first meet with local high school students during a breakfast session organized by Bauer College. Afterward, he will participate in a meeting of the board, followed by a fireside chat with Bauer student leaders before closing his day giving his “Lessons in Leadership” presentation.
“Inspiring Minds” is free and open to the public. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Rockwell Pavilion of MD Anderson Library, followed by Lewis’ talk at 6 p.m. Online registration is open until Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Lewis’ journey began Houston’s Third Ward. Every Sunday, he would pass the University of Houston campus with his mother on their way to church. He described those early life lessons during a dinner this spring to celebrate Bauer MBA and MS Finance graduates, serving as keynote speaker.
“There are no shortcuts in life,” Lewis said. “It is a small world, and treating people well just really pays.”
