Jamie Belinne, assistant dean for career services and director of the Rockwell Career Center at UH Bauer College, said grads with highly specialized business skills have an edge in this competitive market. This is an obvious plus for majors with specific training in fields like IT or accounting. Grads with more general majors, like management, still have a significantly better chance of finding work job than those without a degree. And Belinne said they can up their odds further with a résumé tailored with other training or experience that could show they could step in and make an immediate contribution.
