Renowned energy expert Daniel Yergin will speak at the University of Houston on Oct. 31 as part of the UH Energy Exchange, a program to discuss key issues at the intersection of energy, the environment and the economy.

Yergin will discuss his new book, “The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in UH’s Michael J. Cemo Hall.

Yergin won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for his book, “The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money and Power.” He is also chairman and founder of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Association.

In his latest book, Yergin writes about how energy is the engine of future global political and economic change.

“We are excited about Daniel Yergin’s visit to the University of Houston. His books, media appearances, and lectures have made him one of the most visible and influential energy educators in the world,” said Joseph Pratt, Cullen Professor of History and Business at UH. “It is fitting that he presents his new book at UH, a leading university in the field of energy education.”
